TagLink User Guide

This guide covers how to set up your NFC devices, manage your links, create custom pages, and track analytics.

Quick Start

Setting up your account

1 Create account: Register with your email address and verify when prompted.

2 Complete onboarding: Follow the guided setup where you'll provide your first link and order your NFC device.

3 Start using your device: When your device arrives, it's ready to use immediately - no activation required! Just tap it with your phone to test.

4 Manage your links: Add more links, create pages, or update where your device redirects anytime from your dashboard.

Managing Your Devices

Device limits: Core plan (1 device), Pro plan (10 devices), Enterprise (unlimited)

Your device is ready to use

1 When your device arrives, it's already connected to your account and ready to use

2 It will redirect to the link you provided during onboarding

3 Test it immediately by tapping with your phone

4 Visit your Devices page to rename it or change where it redirects

Testing your device

Tap your device with an NFC-enabled phone

Verify it redirects to the correct destination

If it doesn't work, check the device configuration in your dashboard

Changing what your device does

1 Go to Devices and click Manage → Edit on your device

2 Choose "Single Link" to redirect to one specific link

3 Or choose "Link Page" to show multiple links on a page

4 Save your changes - they take effect immediately

UTM Campaign Tracking

Campaign access: Pro and Enterprise plans only
Campaign limits: Core plan (0 campaigns), Pro plan (10 campaigns), Enterprise (unlimited)
Purpose: Track marketing performance with UTM parameters automatically added to your links

Creating your first campaign

1 Go to Campaigns → New Campaign

    2 Enter a campaign name (e.g., "Q1 Networking Campaign")

3 Add UTM parameters (all optional):

UTM Source: Where the traffic came from (e.g., "facebook", "newsletter", "google")

UTM Medium: How traffic gets to you (defaults to "taglink")

UTM Campaign: The specific campaign name (e.g., "q1-networking")

UTM Term: Keywords for paid search (e.g., "running-shoes")

UTM Content: Helps differentiate similar content (e.g., "header-link", "footer-cta")

    4 Save your campaign

Assigning campaigns to links

1 When creating or editing a link, look for the "Campaign Tracking" section

2 Select a campaign from the dropdown (or leave as "No Campaign")

3 Preview the final URL with UTM parameters in the preview box

4 Save your link - UTM parameters will be automatically added when clicked

Understanding UTM parameters

UTM Source: Identifies where traffic comes from (networking event, business card, etc.)

UTM Medium: How the traffic gets to you (usually "taglink" for NFC devices)

UTM Campaign: The specific campaign or promotion name

UTM Term: Keywords that describe your networking focus (optional)

UTM Content: For A/B testing different designs or placements (optional)

Campaign best practices

Use descriptive campaign names that you'll understand later

Create separate campaigns for different events or time periods

You can create campaigns without UTM parameters for simple organization

The system automatically converts spaces to underscores and cleans up invalid characters

Understanding Your Analytics

Analytics access: Basic analytics (all plans), Advanced analytics (Pro and Enterprise only)

Reading your dashboard

Device Clicks: How many times people have tapped your physical devices

Link Clicks: How many times people have clicked links on your pages

Page Performance: How many people visited your pages and how many clicked through (Pro+ only)

Using filters (Pro and Enterprise)

Use the device filter to see performance for specific devices

Use the page filter to see performance for specific pages

Change the time period to see trends over different periods

Understanding conversion rates

Conversion rate shows how many visitors actually click links on your page. Rates over 100% mean visitors click multiple links, which is normal.

Troubleshooting

My device isn't working

1 Check your dashboard to see if the device appears in your devices list

2 Make sure the device is configured to redirect somewhere (check your Devices page)

4 Test with a different phone - some older phones don't support NFC

5 Check that your link or page is working by visiting it directly

My links aren't updating

Changes take effect immediately - try refreshing your browser

Make sure you clicked "Save" after making changes

Clear your browser cache if you're still seeing old content

Check that the URL you entered is correct and includes "https://"

I can't add more links/devices/pages

Check your plan limits: Core (1 device, 3 links, 1 page, 0 campaigns), Pro (10 devices, unlimited links, 3 pages, 10 campaigns)

Delete unused items to free up space

Consider upgrading to Pro or Enterprise for higher limits

I forgot my password

Use the "Forgot Password" link on the login page

Check your email for the reset link
